I am not one to wish my life away - that would be foolish, as an OAP - but I do love and look forward to the first Saturday of every month at Les Rocquettes! It is a real sacrifice for me, as a morning-averse individual, to get to Les R for 08.00hrs on a Saturday morning, especially when I rise at the gruesome hour of 06.30hrs the rest of the week.

Trust me: it’s worth it! There is always a very warm welcome from
the hotel staff and the irresistible offer of good company with a great breakfast.

75 years have passed since I began National Service with the Hussars and Lancers and as a reservist with The Glosters . It prepared me wonderfully for the priesthood. Old soldiers at St Stephen's introduced me to the Banter Breakfasts for less than £5 at the Rocquettes . I passed the news to a fellow priest and naval friend . Marc Trickey . He loved them ; particularly the monthly indulgence of fried bread . Rise and Shine to enjoy a warm welcome and the friendship.
